fun find in the desert...civilized oasis to compare/contrast with the stark, wild beauty of big bend park...logan and domingo are fun, attentive bar tenders...ipa on tap, always a necessity...had lunch 3 days in a row...blta 2 out of 3 days...awesome sandwich, crispy bacon...goat cheese crostini a must..bar painting is the perfect compliment for the "wild west theme" of the complex
Go see the picture behind the bar.
Nice bar but be prepared to pay the price.
An ok place to stop for a cool drink
Great food! Awesome drinks. A great little get away. Bartender was AWESOME. Worth the drive!!
We were here the first time for lunch. We watched Logan hand squeeze the limes for the evening drinks so I had to try the fruits of his labor and the margarita was perfect. We had the fried green tomatoes, seared Tuna and buffalo wings. Delicious! At our next visit we had dinner and my filet was perfect and since it was national puppy day our pretty, pretty princess Luna thought so too. The macaroni and cheese that Sabin received with his steak was deceiving spicey which was a wonderful surprise. The staff was as friendly as people we had known for years. This only being our second day here we are looking forward to the rest of our week 💕
Fun bar at Lajitas resort near Terlingia, Texas... It takes a bit of doing to get there but it's well worth the effort. I've been about 8 times and will keep going back.
Ok bar, not a lot of other options. Good good but pricey.
After a long day of hiking in Big Bend, we headed to The Thirsty Goat for a drink. My husband and I each had a frozen margarita which was very good. The saloon is a few miles down the road from Terlingua, at Lajitas. There are large screen tvs and live music sometimes. The bartenders were very friendly. After finishing our drink, we we went outside and found an open air seating area with outdoor games. We were surprised at how pretty the area is. There are great views of the mountains, golf course, and lots of beautiful desert plants and flowers.
Very warm welcome
nice but hotel prices
The resort in Lajitas is gorgeous. And the bar ain’t so bad either.
Cold rice, cold beans, medium warm chicken enchiladas. Sauce on the enchiladas was ok. Nothing special. Shredded chicken in side was dried out and not much flavor. Wife’s dish had to be sent back the fish was way over cooked and dried out. The redo took way too long but was much better. Apologies were lacking. I was done eating the portion of the meal that was edible. margaritas are pricey at $11 per, left me questioning if there was any tequila in there. Overall bad experience. I’d say serious training deficiencies. Wait staff was ok.
Love it friendly staff
Cold drinks
Service was great, drinks/food as well. The staff is fun and friendly. Can't ask for more when staying at a resort.
The Thirsty Goat serves good craft beer! The chips and salsa were very tasty! The ambiance is fabulous and the painting behind the bar will delight many, tho there are some that might worry she will get desert sand in interesting places... The grounds are lovely and we would have sat outside on a more agreeable weather day. But the price is absurd. We opted for beers and chips, skipped the $19 burgers and made a pizza at home in the RV. It is most definitely a resort community.
Great place with awesome service. Adam and Logan make great drinks and are all smiles while serving. Super fun time!
Logan is the bomb
First time trying out this place and it didn’t disappoint. We got fajitas (combo option) and the baby back ribs. They were really good. We’ll definitely be coming back.
Food was very disappointing. Ordered a BLT thinking that's a safe bet. The toasted bread was cold and no bacon. Waiter took it to have bacon added and it was COLD half cooked bacon. This is the 2nd time to give this place a chance on the food. Will not go back.
Hes right beside Maveric Rv Park. They say he loves wine coolers ..
Great food, drinks atmosphere service
The drinks are well made, but somewhat pricey for what you get. Don’t get the sparking sangria unless you like your sangria to taste like beer. Also, they need to get a drink menu! The bartender looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they had a drink menu.
My visit is always awesome. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
Nice
Very cool place
Great food and drinks. Morgan was awesome and friendly.
So, it's a little pricey but the food is very good. Go on Friday or Saturday when the entertainment is Ted Arbogast. You won't be disappointed!
This place is an oasis! We just love Logan and Adam! They make the best drinks and have a great line of B. S. Way to go LaJitas!
Service was great! Food was good and drinks cold. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend it!
This place is worth visiting for the lovely painting of the nude lady behind the bar alone. Beautifully appointed, lots of big, rich wood furniture and adornments like chandeliers and brass. Drinks are definitely on the expensive side, but you are paying for the location and the atmosphere. Food menu is available at the bar from the Candelilla Restaurant next door, with brunch on Sundays, but that's available seasonally. A nice place to eat once you have already been to all of the few places to dine in Terlingua. Pro tip: Order a Sotol Ranch Water and forget you ever heard about Tequila.
